SECTION 1.
L
No. 1.
[25138]
(No. 68.) Sir,
Sir Edward Grey to Sir A. Johnstone.
Foreign Office, June 10, 1914.
I TRANSMIT to you herewith copy of a letter from the Colonial Office on the subject of the adherence of Bermuda to the International Opiuni Convention, and I request that you will now sign the convention on behalf of that colony.
As soon as the convention has been signed on behalf of Bermuda, there will remain no further objection to the convention being ratified by His Majesty's Govern- ment. I should be glad, therefore, if you would obtain from the Netherlands Government as soon as possible a copy of the protocol recording the signatures handed in subsequently to the original signature of the convention (including that of Bermuda), in order that the ratifications of this country may be deposited without delay.
ain, &c.
